“From the time of John the Baptizer until now the kingdom of God has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. (Mt. 11:12)”
Force & violence may seem out of place when speaking of the kingdom of God, especially when it is ‘gentle Jesus meek & mild who said this. The Amplified Bible gives a clearer understanding of the nature and direction of this violence & force: it is those who forcibly press in to possess the Kingdom of heaven who receive it; the indifferent do not. Those who highly value the kingdom of heaven as a precious prize often do violence to their old way of life, forcibly breaking free of wrong patterns of thoughts, words and action. Those who receive the kingdom of heaven have violently gone against their fallen carnal nature and against the sinful culture they live in.
They recognize that the transformation does not come by their own efforts but by the power of Jesus Christ, His Name, His Blood, His resurrection victory, His authority and power. alleluia!
Forcibly pursue, receive and possess the Kingdom and forcibly hold on to it and to all the graces it bestows.
“How many of My disciples did violence to their established ways of life? Peter, Andrew, James, John, Matthew & Zacccheus left all to follow Me and they are only a few examples. Mary Magdalene, Lazarus and his sisters Martha & Mary, Saul & Cornelius are others.
You who are reading this may be in this company as believers who forcibly & violently have taken and received the Kingdom. You have witnessed the transforming power of My violent suffering and death and the violently glorious resurrection. You have witnessed the transforming power of the Holy Spirit & the Word of God in your life and you rejoice with great thanksgiving.
If you have not yet taken the Kingdom, now is the acceptable time, today is the day of salvation. Invite Me into your heart & life by an act of your will. Invite Me to violently & forcibly change what is not good, holy & pure and make you a pure, determined disciple of Mine, a light to those around you, a light to the nations.
Forcibly receive the Kingdom & forcibly hold on to it & spread all the graces it contains.”
“No one forced Me to leave the glories of heaven to come to earth as a helpless baby. No one forced Me to suffer injustice, mockery, torture & the cruel death on the cross. It was My love for the Father & obedience to Him. It was our love, mercy & compassion for you that made Me come for your sakes. It was love, Abba ‘s love & My love for you that made Me come to seek out & save the lost & to give My life as a ransom for the many.
No one forced Me; love forced Me. Love for you forced Me to come and do what I did. I did it for you because I love you.
You know the result. My resurrection stripped satan of the power he had, the power of sin, fear & death. My resurrection forcibly stripped him of the victory he thought he had won & stripped him of the keys of hell death & the grave. In the presence of the hordes of hell, I turned his gloating into humiliation & took captivity captive. I made a public show of his defeat.
You who have believed in Me & been born again thru faith & baptism are My trophies & evidence of My victory. Rejoice in Me as I rejoice in you. Forcibly resist satan & his lies & deceptions. Laugh at him. Your salvation & holiness humiliates him.”
