“I’ve been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb,
Washed in it’s flood and cleansed I am.
I’ve been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.”
As we begin the season of Lent, we must check our attitude toward Lent. Looked at properly, it is a season of grace and conversion in which we examine ourselves according to the Word so as to be purified of the things & tendencies that have crept in that are not of the Lord. Any deprivation is really just a refocusing on God, His Word, will & ways. That is a good thing. Our fasting should free up resources with which we can show love & mercy to the needy in generous almsgiving.
As we invite Holy Spirit to work in us He will help us grow in love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, gentleness, generosity, faithfulness & self-control. He will make us more obvious & compelling witnesses of having been washed in the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus.
“Being washed in the Blood is a life-changing encounter, but it is just the beginning. Ongoing & deepening conversion & transformation are life-long processes that everyone needs to embrace. There is always room for improvement, always room to move from the good to the better, from the better to the best. There are always opportunities to become the best you that you can be. You can always be washed more & more thoroughly by the Blood of Jesus the Lamb of God.
Press in & be purified & sanctified more & more. Press in for My best, My holiness to be manifested to you & in you. Press in to be washed more & more in the precious Blood of Jesus, My Son, Redeemer of the world.
In Him & in His atoning sacrifice on the cross is salvation for all who will receive the joy & freedom of being washed in His redeeming Blood.”
